This isn't just talking about resistance; it's practicing it, together, in the room.

We'll still learn nervous system tools and share resources. But the real work happens between us: when your anger teaches us all about staying present with rage. When someone's silence shows us how oppression lives in our bodies. When we practice taking up space right here, right now.

This is intimate, challenging work. It asks you to show up not just with your politics but with your whole self.

To maintain a container where everyone can be truly heard, live groups are limited to 10 participants. This size allows for meaningful connection while preserving the intimacy needed for vulnerable processing.

How many people can attend each session?

Registration opens each week on a first-come, first-served basis. However, to foster trust and group cohesion, recurring members receive priority access before spots open to new participants. This helps us build the kind of community that can truly hold each other.

First-time participants will need to complete a brief intake form covering:

  • Basic contact information

  • Emergency contact

  • Consent for group participation

  • Agreement to maintain group confidentiality

This minimal paperwork ensures everyone's safety and meets professional standards while keeping barriers low. The intake process takes about 5 minutes, and you'll only need to complete it once. All information is held with the same HIPAA-protected confidentiality as any mental health service.

How does registration work?

Absolutely not. Come when you need support, step back when you need rest. This is about sustainable engagement, not perfect attendance. The weekly newsletter ensures you stay connected to the group's insights even when you can't be present.

Do I need to attend every week?

If the group fills before you can register, you'll still have access to the weekly newsletter recap with key tools, resources, and themes discussed. Many weeks, we may also maintain a brief waitlist in case of last-minute cancellations.

What about confidentiality and privacy?

Your privacy is paramount. What's shared in group stays in group—this is essential for creating safety. All participants will be asked to commit to maintaining each other's confidentiality.

As a licensed psychologist, I'm ethically and legally required to maintain basic documentation even for free groups. This includes:

  • Your consent to participate

  • Attendance records

  • Brief notes on topics discussed (not personal details shared)

  • Any safety concerns that arise

These records are protected under HIPAA and state confidentiality laws, stored securely, and kept to the minimum necessary for continuity of care and professional standards. They exist to protect you—ensuring that if you ever need documentation of participation or if another provider needs context for your care, it's available.


As with all mental health services, I'm mandated to break confidentiality only in specific circumstances:

  • Risk of imminent harm to yourself or others

  • Suspected abuse of a child, elderly, or vulnerable adult

  • Court order or other legal requirements

Given the political nature of our discussions, please know that your political beliefs, activism, and resistance strategies are NOT grounds for breaking confidentiality. This is a protected space for processing and planning.

Documentation focuses on the therapeutic process, not political positions. Notes might read "processed feelings about current events" or "discussed coping strategies for political stress"—not the specifics of your beliefs or planned actions. Your political engagement is your own.

  • We'll explore patterns—like how we might silence ourselves here the same way we do "out there"

  • We'll practice new ways of showing up, speaking up, and taking space

  • We'll use the group itself as a laboratory for building the kind of community we need

The "process" is the magic—it's where we might discover that your fear of speaking in group mirrors your freeze response to political events, or where someone's anger at another member helps us all practice staying present with conflict instead of fleeing. These moments become opportunities for healing and growth.
